Simple Scrap

Am I the only one who packs scrappy supplies for vacation? When I drove out to New Mexico over the holidays (yes the kids & I in a car for 18+ hours) I brought as much as I could fit into my large rolling tote. This time flying around the country I was limited on space because some airlines think that a car seat is luggage & not a necessary item for travel. So I chose my pictures ahead of time selecting paper to coordinate for each set, tossed in some embellishments, adhesive & my paper trimmer. Of course while traveling I picked up some more paper (trip to the scrappy store I used to work at & my best friend sharing her summer stack with me) and a couple of embellishments. Anyways, just a thought I had.

So my step mom & I scrapped some the other night and I finished (all but the journaling) one spread. I'm really hoping to finish Lydia's first year album before she turns 2 so I've been focusing on scrapping her milestones, holidays & first year stuff. When I get back home I want to make a list of what's left to do, print pictures & start tackling it. Here is my tada:
I don't have any todo's for the week except scrap more if we can. Once I'm back home I'll have more todo's. Thanks for stopping by! To see what others have done this week visit Sunday Scrappin!
PS I was going to use a fruit themed paper for some other photos but after doing this spread I was tired. So unless I scrap more today I won't get last week's challenge done. One of these weeks I will attempt a challenge!

Rockin A New Do

I haven't been blogging much while on vacation. First I was in California for 3 weeks - met my new niece, visited family & friends, scrapped and went to the beach {will share photos later}. Now I'm in New Mexico visiting family and it's been fun watching all of the kids play together. While visiting I had to make an appointment with my favorite stylist. :D I'm SO happy I was able to. I appreciate that my hubby works so hard and likes to spoil me once in a while and encourages me to take care of myself. He's so awesome. Anyways, below is a before photo and some after to see all of the changes I made. My hair was very uneven in the front before and had sporatic chunks up to 2 inches longer than the hair right next to it - it was bad ya'll. {Ah! Kennessee is rubbing off on me} I gave up some length to get the cut more even but it will grow again and I'm thrilled with how it turned out. Last time I got my hair done here I had some lowlights put in along with some peekaboo black streaks - this time I asked for the black to be a little more prominent and she was happy to oblige. This cut will grow out well so I won't have to cut it for a few months if I don't want to and the color is so much fun. Thanks for visiting! I'll try to post again in a couple of days but will have more to share when I'm back home.

Scrappin Marathon

I've been on vacation - having fun visiting family & friends. I'm sure I'll post more about that later but for now I want to share my scrappy progress! Last week I scrapped a few hours with my sister and this week I've been scrapping with my best friend. So far I've completed {minus journaling & some last minute touches} 10 two page spreads and 1 one page layout. It's been so much fun - I don't know how I'll scrap at home alone again...but I'm sure I'll manage. ;) Thanks for stopping by! Go to Sunday Scrappin blog to see what more scrappers have been up to.

Belated Birthday Wishes

Michael turned 4 over the weekend and we celebrated with a Cars themed birthday party - it's his favorite movie. It seems like just yesterday that he was a baby and that he's been a 'big boy' forever all at the same time. He's grown & learned so much over this past year and I'm so proud of him. I'm excited for what this next year has in store.
