Sunday Scrappin

I apologize for my late Sunday post, usually I write them up on Saturday so I just have to click "post" then ctrl c & v the url...but I am having trouble keeping track of days since school is out. Without that everyday is like Saturday for me since I don't have a 9-5er. Trust me, I'm not complaining, just mixed up sometimes. ;)

I'm excited to be back for another week of SS though I realized I haven't done a single challenge since I've been regularly scrapping. Maybe I'll go back and do some of those. Last weekend I had some free time so I scrapped! I am LOVING getting progress made on Lydia's one year album.

Tadas:

So first I went back & did embellishments & titles for the last two spreads I did - still have the journaling to do! I started digging through my supplies and found great stuff I forgot that I had! I also realized that when I'm done with Lydia's one year album & "baby" pages I'll have great supplies to pass on to another mom of a little girl...and some baby boy stuff too.

While looking through my supplies I found these fun outdoorsy mini shaker boxes/tags. These inspired me to scrap some pictures of Lydia "playing" in the grass outside. And I even got the title put on, still have to do the journaling.

For all three of these spreads I used layout sketches I saw on this cool chick's blog and I think she got them from pagemaps. I still have some sketches to inspire me and look forward to making some time for that this week.

One last thing I did was organize my smaller embellishments - brads, eyelets, clips, buttons, tags, etc. They were previously stored in those two smaller cases to the right but over time they both broke & were being held together with packing tape. I bought the new organizer along with 3 or 6 others from a local online yard sale website a couple of months ago but forgot I had it. I'll be organizing more with the other containers soon - I hope!

Todos:

• Make another Father's Day card.
• Mail out Father's Day cards, Mother's Day cards, Amelia's birthday card & gift, Christmas gifts and maybe...just maybe get around to that yearly letter I was going to send out in December.
• Organize other embellishemnts.
• Get some cardstock

Sunday Scrappin

And I'm back again! This is my fourth week in a row posting actual projects that I've completed or {mostly} in some cases. I have been so inspired lately, just on a kick! Not sure if it stems from knowing my best friend, sister & step-mom have been scrap happy lately or my recent introduction to Stampin Up products but whatever it is - I am not complaining! Sometimes all components I need to scrap {creativity, desire to finish a task, uninterrupted time & photos} are all in place at the same time so I'm taking advantage before something comes up & I stop again.

So this week I've been busy! A crafting fool some might say - my husband's eye roll may have been saying that a couple of times but that's okay because I have progress!

Tadas!:

Last weekend I was so inspired by my new stamp set "pun fun" that I made 6 cards! Lydia wanted to help so she made the one up top with all of the hearts stamped on it - I'm sure that was a hard guess for you huh? ;) I'm going to use this card still with some other embellishment and send it to a lucky grandma - name drawn out of a hat for fairness. I have specific people in mind for some of these cards but I'm not saying who just in case they are reading this.

This week was Michael's last week as a preschooler :tear: I made the teachers & assistants in his class each a card and then because I am SO together, I forgot to give them out when I dropped him off. I may have been a little distracted taking pictures of his last days as my "baby".

By the way, when you're having an emotional milestone sort of week and counting down the days until your monthly "friend" shows up, it may not be the best time to scrap photos that are two years old but feel like just yesterday and serve only as a reminder of how quickly time flies and even your child's dirty looks can make you weep. As you can tell by that last sentence, I may still be a little emotional...as if you couldn't tell.

To do's:

• Finish my pages with title, journaling & a few embellishments.
• Make another Father's Day card.
• Remember teacher's cards when I go to parent/teacher conference.
• Mail out Father's Day cards, Mother's Day cards, Amelia's birthday card & gift, Christmas gifts and maybe...just maybe get around to that yearly letter I was going to send out in December.
• Get another tub of death by chocolate ice-cream so I can make it through my first week of summer vacation with heat, humidity & hormones.
  

Stampin & Scrappin!

Last month & this I hosted Stampin Up parties for a new friend of mine who recently became a demonstrator. I love the products and have been inspired to start making cards which I shared in this post. One fun part of hostessing a party has been getting & making projects. Whatever my projects my friend demonstrates I get to keep plus whatever I make. That plus hanging out with friends & earning free products - wow! She's starting up a monthly stamping group that participators will rotate hostess gifts and I'm guaranteed one time a month to scrap/make cards/get creative with my paper trimmer! If you can't tell I'm just a *little* excited about that. =D

Here are my tadas:

These are projects from my party last month. She demonstrated the cards showing different techniques and I made the 8x8 scrap page - she made me another that is the same but blue & green, I'll mount these on 12x12 papers and use in my albums. If you can't read what the card with the truck says it reads "Thought you could use a little pickup!" Isn't that cute?

These are projects we did at this month's party. She demonstrated the card with flowers & the paper box with the rocket on it {I got to keep them both}. Then we all made a birthday card and recipe cards. These are adorable! There's a little stamp at the upper right corner that reads "Yum Factor" with five stars underneath that you can color in to show how much you like that dish.

Another tada that I can't really show you is I finally ordered pictures to finish Lydia's first album with, 321 to be exact. I know!

Todos:
*When I get my pictures in I'm going to somewhat plan my pages and get solid cardstock that I seem to be running short on.
*Make some occasion cards BEFORE the occasion, this way people just might get a birthday card the same month as their birthday for example.
*I have some home decor scrappy projects that I'd like to plan out but we'll see how the week goes.

Happy Mother's Day

This morning Michael woke me up asking for cream for his poison ivy {yes, it's been an interesting week in this house} and breakfast. I asked him what today was and he said Sunday, then remembered it was Mother's Day and ran to get my gifts he made at school and was hiding since Friday. He made me close my eyes while he got them out of the cabinet and then announced I could open them. He was so excited! He made me a butterfly magnet, a card, drew a picture with a description of me & had a recipe book from his class. I cried. I'm a sap.

Lydia was upset that she didn't have anything for me so I gave her paper & crayons and she drew me a little picture. From the arguments & back talking I don't think they fully understand the concept of Mother's Day. Though aside from hand made gifts at school, it's pretty much like any other weekend. And that's okay, today is all about spending time with my kids, the people in my life that make this day special for me.

Happy Mother's Day to all of the mom's out there! Special hugs sent to those who are missing their moms or children on this day.

Sunday Scrappin

I did it again! Sort of. I got my stamps from Stampin Up Monday and Friday I put them together. Yesterday I finished up the cards I started last week. So now they're stamped & waiting to get mailed or for someone to give them to. I still need to write a sentiment on the inside of the ones for Mother's Day & my niece's birthday, I don't think I've ever mailed a Mother's Day card off on time - oops! I'll get my niece's birthday stuff out this week...along with the gifts from Christmas that still haven't been mailed. Have I mentioned that I'm a procrastinator? I have good intentions, just sometimes takes me a while to get to it.

I LOVE the Stampin Up stamp sets & products. I ended up with 4 sets of stamp, plus a bonus single stamp, an ink pad {childproof!} & stamp cleaner pad. OH and a vinyl 'rub on' for my wall, it says "Welcome" and I still need to put it up. =] Some items I bought but some were part of my hostess gift/credit! I'm having another party this month and wrote up my wish list {just about the whole catalog} yesterday.

Sunday Scrappin!

It's been a long time since I've posted anything scrappy in a couple of months and that was about organizing my stuff, not even working on a project. So I'm very excited to be posting again & I know I'll have more to share in the next few weeks as well! I was inspired yesterday when I remembered it was National Scrapbook Day and visited the blog, The Pink Stamper full of challenges & giveaways throughout the day. If you haven't checked it out yet, it's not too late - giveaways & challenges can be entered through tomorrow! I'm still scrapping today & have some work I'll be finishing up tomorrow when my Stampin Up order comes in.

My tada's {so far}:

* 4 nearly finished cards - 1 birthday, 2 mother's day, 1 get well. These will be finished when my stamp set comes in tomorrow.

* An altered lunch pail & mini paper bag album - part of my niece's first birthday gift. It's okay, she can't quite read this yet. ;) I've had this kit for over a year, glad I finally used it!This was for Challenge #2 on The Pink Stamper - trying something new, I've never done a lunch pail before. It was fun to make. I used papers that coordinate with her room so she can put little trinkets and whatnot in it. The mini paper bag album also coordinates with the pail.

* A two page spread of Lydia's first 4th of July.This page {above} was inspired by Challenge #5 at The Pink Scrapper - a scrapbook page sketch layout. I did a second page {below} to go along with it & after I journal I'll be one topic closer to finishing Lydia's one year album. Yay progress! I'm continuing National Scrapbook Day over through today, National Scrapbook Weekend sounds so much better don't you think? This is what my table looked like yesterday before my husband took his laptop back.

Todo's:

* Finish all challenges & cards.
* Order prints needed to finish Lydia's one year album.
* Back up photos on computer - haven't done this in a few months.
