Sunday Scrappin' on Monday

I'm a day late with this post but this weekend was a busy one. I've had organizing my scrappy stuff & ordering prints on my to do list for some time now. A couple weeks ago I posted about getting it done that day. Well, it didn't get done that day. But it did get done this week...or started anyhow. I organized the three drawer cubby thing that's in my laundry room. I still have to sort stickers, die cuts, brads and other small embellishments but a large dent has been made.

The top drawer has ribbons, fabric flowers, buttons and fibers. I tried keeping that drawer light because if I have anything sitting on top of the unit it's challenging to open. The second drawer has paints, tools, markers, photo files, pens, paper bags & other small items to alter. The bottom drawer has larger things like my paper trimmer, a lunchbox kit, and die cuts that I still need to organize. My scrappy tote on wheels is also in the laundry room and has stamps and stickers (in filers) that I need to organize. It's all more contained and easier to see what I have. I plan on putting a shelf in the laundry room to hold everything so this is temporary until Shawn builds the shelves/cabinets to go next to the TV stand.

I still need to order prints and want to do that this week. I attempted this a couple of weeks ago but was having trouble uploading to one website. I'll give it another chance then use another if it doesn't work. I'd really like to get all photos printed to finish up Lydia's album so when I get the itch to scrap I have something to work with.

More Answers?!? this can't be LOOOOST

I'm posting LIVE as I watch LOST tonight. :D First I would like to thank Comcast for not having technical difficulties this week. Second, the little mouse pad on my husband's laptop bugs me. K so I'm going to write out my thoughts on things during commercials so I don't forget so much at the end of the epi like I always do.

* This epi started out the same as the very first episode of LOST (close up of Jack's eyeball zooming out to him on the island) At first I thought it may have been a flashback but then someone yelled out "Jack!" so I knew it wasn't.

* Then they showed us that Kate & Hurley made it back to the island too!! Which based on the ending of last week's epi we weren't sure.

* We got SO much info in the first few minutes with Eloise Hawking (Faraday's mom) about how the island was found and that it has ALWAYS been moving - which is why they never got rescued!!!

* NNOOOOO!!!!!! Desmond can't leave!!!

* The faith vs science struggle is back on for Jack

* It's 25 minutes in and WOW. We know they have to recreate the flight as best they can, which is why Locke had to die - he's substituting for Jack's dad...I wonder if he'll be joining Christian Shepard in the spooky cabin with Jacob??? This also makes me wonder if we'll see Walt coming back.

* When is Jack going to read Locke's suicide note??????

* Where did Sun go? Is she getting JeYeon? (btw, she's such a cute little girl)

* Kate's a little OFF...WHERE is Aaron Kate??? Did she leave him with someone to protect him (listening to Claire's phone call/the dream from last season) or did something bad happen? Maybe Benry has that all set up too and we'll see a Claire & Aaron reunion!!!

* Did Aaron make you feel sad Kate? Is that why you got rid of him??? (I'm a little upset at Kate)

* Poor Benry....he's always getting beat up. I wonder if he went to see Sayid? No, then he'd be dead for sure. Hmm...seems he has a lot of enemies.

* But who are you Jill? Share with the class!

* I'm just waiting for Locke to say something to Jack. I don't want him to be dead. NNOOOOOOO!!! READ THE NOTE!!!!! gah! Jack, you're already doing crazy Locke stuff just read the note LOUDLY so we can all hear...what difference does it make now??

* Where's your daughter???? lskdjfskldfjskldfj HOLY COW, Sayid being escorted by the authorities!! (like Kate was on the first flight) Awww....Hurley bought lots of seats to save all of those people. He's such a sweety!

* Maybe Benry will tell us how he got hurt. Now I'm thinking it wasn't either of them. READ THE NOTE JACK!!!!!!!!!! Oh, that's what was in his hands when he went to the island.

* So where's Aaron and where's Walt??? laksdjfsdkljf

* Lapidus!!!!! w00t! I wonder if Kate talked to Sayid & Hurley. WOW, he looks different without a beard and his hair combed. Frank was meant to be on the island. Aw, sorry Frank - no trip to Guam today!

* I just looked at the time, it's 8:54...just when we were getting somewhere this epi will be over. I bet we find out more next week!!! The last 5 minutes are always good, these stupid commercials need to be over now.

* LOL Ben's such a smartass, I love it. Read the note already!! laksdjfskldfj OPEN IT!!! Gah! This is when the plane will crash. Just as he's going to open it. So like LOST. Benry - Jack doesn't want to cry again...that's why he doesn't want to read it. gah! OH Oh oh....he's reading it - and it wasn't much. "Jack, I wished you had believed me. John" I wish he had believed you too Locke, I really do.

* There's the light!! And they're ba-ack. Now go find Locke & see if he's walking around like your daddy was!!! We've seen this already, move along now.

* Kate's "we're all on the plane doesn't mean we're back together" I wonder if she meant just her & Jack or that things wouldn't be like it was before. And O_O I'm confused. Are they now skipping around....Wow, I just saw the preview and am SO excited for next week!!!!!!!

My Brain Just Popped

I'm SO LOOOOST!

I was already confused by all of the skipping around...but watching tonight's episode put me beyond confused and I heard a pop in my head. I'm sure it was my brain because I still can't put together a complete thought. o_O Must use bullets.
  • Beginning of episode was a little slow going
  • Comcast or ABC had issues and I missed a couple of minutes when Sayid had the assassin in a choke hold with an IV - in full Sayid fashion
  • I really was thinking that Carole was behind the DNA testing, maybe with a tip from Ben or Widmore - but we found out it was only Ben, was he doing that to get Kate back to the Island or just to ensure that Aaron made it back to the Island??? I just can't see Ben singing Backyardigans songs with little Aaron...though now that image makes me LOL!!
  • How is Ben's lawyer also Carole Littleton's {Claire's mom} lawyer?? I'm sure Ben had something to do with that.
  • I don't trust Sun, I was even worried for Aaron when Kate left him with her. Really Kate? You haven't seen or talked to this chick in how long & you leave 'your' baby with him??? Hmm....
  • It was a bittersweet moment when Sawyer saw Kate & Claire - I'm SO glad he didn't talk to her though, could have made a ripple in things that messed everything up. What's happened has happend - he was right.
  • Locke could have talked to himself but knew better.
  • I'm still curious who had the canoes with a training wheel {that was my first thought} and shooting at our skippers. HOLD THE PHONE - Could that have been people from the black rock??? Did they have training wheel canoes? Or no, camp was set up. GAH!
  • So then it got juicy & of course there was only FIVE minutes left in the show - SO LIKE LOST!
  • We see CFL {crazy french lady aka Daniel Reussau} and her crew - Locke found the box with French writing, then they were all speaking French.
  • THEY SAW JIN!!!!!!
  • Who apparantly has been skipping around in time while unconcious and floating on debris from the freightor blowing up.
  • I was skeptic if he was still alive but was hoping! {Then I found out he WAS from a spoiler via my bff months ago} Very cool to FINALLY see for myself and see how he survived and that he 'moved' with the Island. It looked like the freightor was outside of the ripple the island made when it moved so was he inside the ripple or did the island choose to bring him along for the ride.
  • In past episodes was there any hint that CFL remembered rescuing Jin??? I'm going to have to go back and look.
  • I thought we were going to get the scene with Sun pointing the gun at Ben that we've been seeing in previews since before the season premier but I guess we'll be waiting until next week.
  • OH & the 'sickness' is spreading???? Will the sick ones run into CFL & her crew??? Dan said something about the length of time you're on the Island or how you came/left before??? We got a hint that Charlotte was there before so it makes sense that she got the nosebleed symptoms, but Miles THINKS he's only been there for two weeks - could he be wrong? Could he be the baby we saw at the beginning of the season with the orientation guy (dr. something - can't remember right now) ???? Now Juliet is bleeding! I think Sawyer is safe because he's been there much less time, only a few months (seems like FOREVER)!
  • AND - will we finally learn more about CFL's story?? I was happy/sad to see her, knowing what happens to her & her little baby bump :TEAR: Will we see Ben snatching up Alex?
  • We could have been skipping sometime in the FUTURE that we haven't seen yet, FUTURE after Locke leaves the Island...and again -

Ice Ice Baby

All right stop collaborate and listen Ice is back with a brand new invention something grabs a hold of me tightly flow like a harpoon daily & nightly. Will it ever stop yo I don't know turn off the lights and I'll glow...If there was a problem yo I'll solve it, check out the hook while my DJ revolves it!

If you hadn't heard Kentucky was hit with an ice storm last week. Shawn had a dentist appointment the first morning of the freeze and appropriately a local radio station played the song "Ice Ice Baby" which I couldn't resist blasting & my kids had to dance to. I should have recorded them, it was hilarious! In case you were under a rock in 1990 "Ice Ice Baby" is a song by Vanilla Ice & my opening paragraph are some of the lyrics from the song. I was surprised at how much of the song I still remembered and kinda proud of myself. Not because the song was so special but because I remember a song that's nearly 20 years old and I was only 8 when it first hit the radio. :D So, I'm not so old as I feel some days.

So it was cold and we drove as little as possible because accidents do happen, but I couldn't stop taking pictures. It was SO beautiful, the bare trees looked like glass statues - or ice sculptures, that would be more fitting! But look, just gorgeous! The third one down on the left is a tuft of crabgrass in our front yard but the icy version looks like a plant or creature you'd find under the sea. Oh & yes, that's our Christmas tree in the back yard - standing in a frozen tree stand. {Ask the hubs about that one} The top right photo is the tree across from our house, weighed down by the ice. There were several trees with limbs & branches lost due to the ice, one car was smashed that I know of - no one hurt. We did lose power a couple of times but not for long periods of time.

The next day we woke up to snow. When Michael shouted "get up mom, it's snowing!!" I thought he was going to be later disappointed by the powdered sugar looking snow flurry. But it was real snow! We got an inch or two, not much but enough to play some in. So, after we ate breakfast and I drank a cup of coffee to become half human I got us all bundled up and let them make footprints, angels, snowballs and well - get cold. Once they realized that mom wasn't crazy for wanting to go inside the warm house we went in & I made them hot chocolate at Michael's request. School was closed that day & Shawn didn't have to go into work so we had a lazy{ish} day at home.

P.S. Are you still singing the song? I am! LOL

Pretty pictures & fun snow play aside I do have to say that we were very fortunate because not far from our house there are people still out of power, businesses still not operating and a lot of mess to clean up. I didn't realize how bad the damage from the ice storm was until the following day when it was all over the news. I'm thankful that we were able to stay warm in below freezing temperatures and am praying for quick relief for those affected by the storm. If you'd like to learn how you can help those who have lost, please contact your local Salvation Army or Red Cross.

Need to Scrap

Well, I haven't scrapped anything this week and probably won't do any pages today BUT I am hoping to organize my stuff and get prints ordered TODAY so I can scrap sometime this month! I really want to finish Lydia's first year album over the next two months, should be a reasonable goal with only 11 topics. I'll just have to make the time to get it done. Then I can focus on 'catching up' on the family albums and maybe even my wedding album one day! ;) PS Winkflash.com is having a 6 cent 4x6 print sale, not sure how long it's going to last but you can get 100 prints for $6.00 + shipping, not a bad deal! Since I didn't scrap this week I obviously didn't meet the challenge to scrap something sweet but I am thinking of something to do for Valentines day for the kids & have found some fun ideas that I'll be mulling over. I just found out about this underwater restaurant and thought it would be a fun place to take the kids on V-Day. Shawn & I have never been big on Valentine's so I thought it would be fun to include the kids on it and love on them a little more that day. :)

I do have something craftsy to share today though I didn't make it. My grandma ordered this for me for Christmas and I was finally able to pick it up from the post office two days ago. I thought it would be fun to share after posting about Army ACU's taking over the house. By the way, we still haven't found a place for all of his gear & there is a pile next to the dining table.

I took off the name tape with my last name on it for the pictures but it goes in the blank velcro space. The side has snap enclosures & the inside is roomy with lots of pockets to hold everything I carry with me - which is usually a lot. Planner, wallet, LOOK Books, business cards, keys, lip balm, compact, cell phone, zip pouch with order forms & pen, gloves (lately) and usually I have tissues and wipes in there too. This was made with one of Shawn's ACU tops and his patches. If you'd like to order one for yourself or someone you know - she also does non-military bags you can go here.

To see what other scrappers who probably got scrappy this week have been up to click the button above. If you're here from SS have a scrap happy week & wish me luck in getting back on the ball!
