SMARTish

I haven't been able to stay focused this week or I've focused too much - I can't decide. I'm feeling very unfocused right now so my apologies in advance. Anyways, I've either been very focused but only on one thing - like for one whole day I'm focused on cleaning the house and I get stuff around the house done but nothing done for my business, personal time or errands. But then other days I keep going from one to another to another without really finishing anything and at the end of the day I'm very tired but it doesn't look like anything is accomplished.

Another example of my focusing issues is this. January's habit was to keep the sink clean throughout the day with emphasis on cleaning it out at night. I did okay. February I decided to start getting my laundry folded right after taking it out of the drier. So this week my sink has been clean. My laundry? Well, there are two loads sitting in the spilling out of the basket on my bed and another in the drier. :sigh:

I think I need a schedule or an assistant or lower expectations. The third would be easier and definitely affordable. An assistant? Ha! But if I had one I can guarantee you they would be doing my shopping, cleaning and errand running. I may even have them write this blog so you sweet people aren't subjected to my endless rambling.

To sum it up, I'm still working on it. All of it, take your pick. Have a SMART week, & I hope it's better focused than mine was. Click on the button above for some SMARTer people and see what they're doing. Thanks for visiting!

SHS

Wow, it's already Saturday. With the storm Tuesday my Mary Kay meeting was rescheduled to last night so my days are all thrown off. Though that's nothing new. I had an okay week. I really can't remember how often I did the dishes at night but I think that's improving because I don't remember doing dishes more mornings than not. I do know that my kitchen is typically cleaner throughout the day and really that's all that matters. I did finally catch up on the laundry I needed to fold and did a round of laundry with folding it right away. But there's a new load sitting in my basket that was in the drier for a day or so and another load in the drier so I'll have to get on that today. At least I'm thinking about it more is how I look at it.

There isn't any further progress in the kitchen. My hubby got a great deal on an XBox 360, I think for $50. But it didn't come with a controller or power cord/brick. So I got those for him off of e-bay. He says it was all still a good deal but the two items cost $96 plus I'll have to pay shipping a second time to send the items to him so just over $100 in the end. This meant no shelves for my pantry until next pay day. I'm not upset about it though. He doesn't get much down time and I'm sure listening to music or watching movies gets old after a while. So I'm glad he will have something else to relax and enjoy.

SMART {enough}

My habit of having a clean kitchen at night isn't perfect by any means but it's working good enough. I'd say about 3 nights a week the sink is empty & counters wiped down. The rest of the week it gets done almost first thing in the morning - a girl's gotta have her coffee & check e-mail right? I'm doing better than I was before starting up SHS again because at least now I'm thinking about it more often and clean more throughout the day. So I'll be content in knowing hoping it will become a better habit & move onto another one.

But first my month goals for January concerning the kitchen:

  • Putting shelves in the pantry {every other cabinet has shelves, yet this one only has the holes for little brackets}
  • Put up valances {which also means deciding on some kind of color scheme}
  • Getting a rug or runner {again - color choices}
  • Purge and reorganize all cabinets & drawers.
  • Clear clutter off of counter tops.
I'm sad to say that I still haven't finished any of these projects, except organizing the drawers. Fortunately the cabinets aren't really a mess and there's only a couple that need reorganizing. Now that pay day has come I still plan to get my shelves for the {currently} pointless pantry this week. Before I pick out fabric for the valances I need to decide on a paint color.

A couple weeks ago I decided that my kitchen colors would be orange & green. I'm still not positive which I want to be the prominent color but I'm leaning toward orange. I picked up a couple paint chips today so I'll stick them to the wall and see how long it takes me to decide on a color. Also, I'm sure I'll be going to a store that has more selection than wal*mart, either Lowe*s or Home*Depot to get a larger variety of colors. Then I'll do my valances, tea kettle, and maybe some canisters in green. I don't need a lot of accessories because I don't like cluttered counters but the green canisters would even look nice in the pantry - once the shelves are in. Oh & I have a really neat idea for some art on the wall but I need to see if I can find talent. Either from deep within or from someone else completely, I'll let you know how that goes. For now I'm just hoping to get all of the organization finished this week.

So, for my new habit I want to start folding my laundry as soon as it comes out of the drier. I used to do that all of the time but then I got a small laundry basket. See, I have a tall standing one in the laundry room where all things dirty go. Then {because I didn't have a basket} I would put the clean & dry clothes on the couch, fold them & put them away. At the most the kids' clothes would sit on the table for a couple hours until nap time was over and then I'd put them away. After I got the laundry basket it was nice to put their folded clothes in until I could put them away. But after only a few weeks I've started leaving dry clothes in the basket unfolded for a couple days before folding them. Which means things are wrinkly & I don't iron, so it's frustrating. I can iron but I certainly would prefer not to. Long story short I want to get back into a good routine for my laundry.

Thanks for stopping by & I hope you have a SMART week! For more SMARTies click on the button above.

SMART to not procrastinate

I am late in posting but it's still Saturday so yay! me. For any of you who have read me for a few months you have surely figured out that I am a procrastinator and if you haven't figured it out this proves it all. I had a Mary Kay Open House planned for a couple weeks now and still everything was done last minute. I had been organizing things in my house throughout the week and milling over ideas for the party but didn't actually start doing anything until yesterday and even that was slow going. So I was mopping my floors at 10:30pm - which is really frustrating when grocery store {read: post housing} floors never look clean. I finally decided that I wasn't trying to sell my house or my housecleaning skills and was okay with it not being perfect. My displays looked good, the house was clean and it turned out to be a good & productive event. However, I REALLY don't want to procrastinate again. When I did my last minute trip to Super Wal*Mart yesterday I forgot the roast, cereal & crackers yet came home with two decorative pillows {brown & on sale for $10} and a bath mat {sale for $5} which were items we needed in the house but didn't feed us. Fortunately I keep my pizza coupons so someone else cooked dinner tonight.

As for the rest of the week as I had mentioned I did get some sorting & organizing done. I tackled some of the paperwork and found that I need several accordion files or just a filing cabinet. Between my Mary Kay paper work, hubby's 'official' Army paperwork, my Army related papers, bills, medical records, schedules, coupons, warranties, manuals...OH the list goes on. I need to organize more before I can cross that one off my list - maybe next SMART day. ;) Next week I'm planning on getting the shelves for my pantry, if I can just remember where I'm supposed to get them from. And I still need to get fabric & borrow a sewing machine or mail it to this sweet chick and let her do it. I have decided that I will paint my kitchen after all, not sure when exactly but it will get painted. I mentioned it to hubby during a chat this week and he didn't bat an eye - at least he didn't tell me if he did, so I think he's okay with it. Of course I'm sure that will mean many trips to the paint section and hanging paint chips on the walls. I'll be sure to share with you all once I get that more figured out.

For my habit, this week I didn't improve much. I think I had the kitchen cleaned 3 nights this week. I just need to focus or start doing the dishes right after dinner before I'm tired after getting the kids to bed. Thanks for stopping by! I hope you had a great week & if you want to get SMART or see how others are being SMART click on the button above.

PINK doing GREEN

About a week after I posted about Going Green I opened up my recent order from Mary Kay and was surprised to see peanut packaging. They used to package orders with plastic filled with air - it looked like several bags connected together but they weren't bags, like a plastic air filled sausage. Anyway, as I found my products in the sea of peanut packaging I found this note at the bottom of the box. I loved the heading of their note so much that I copied it for this post. Isn't that cute 'pink' - just about everything Mary Kay is or has pink or black on it - doing 'green'...I thought it was catchy. Anyway, now I have one more thing to boast about in the business I run. I've read some environmental focused blogs talking about 'green' being a trend or something that businesses are doing just to market to more customers. This may very well be true. But I figure trend or not it's still a good thing.

Oh and to update on my last green post - I still love my canvas bags. I would love them even more if I could remember to pop the trunk BEFORE going into the store more often {new habits take time to develop}. Leendaluu suggested doing a canvas bag exchange - it would be fun to swap bags, Christine was inspired to get her own - have you? - and Ter said that some stores offer bins for recycling plastic bags. I'm going to have to see if my stores do because I have WAY more plastic bags then I think I could ever reuse. Here's what Mel had to say about plastic bags, I didn't know about all this before I bought my totes.

"Yes, I agree. I like to use the re-usable bags as well (or my hands /pockets/purse if I only buy a thing or two). It takes approx. 1,000 years for plastic to degrade--and it's only been around since the 1950's or so as a substitute for cutting down trees for paper bags... so where does all that plastic go? Scary to see that it ends up in our oceans, tons and tons circling and whirling around in massive gyres waiting for their appointed year to be no more. There is, fortunately, research taking place as we "speak" in the creation of plastic bags with a century-shelf life. A much better proposition than 1,000. So, even things like Tupperware and other plastic containers may soon be very more accommodating for the masses."

So are any of you going green or getting greener? Thanks for stopping by!

Getting SMARTer Saturday

Last week I decided to try being SMART again and started back at square one - the kitchen. My daily habit was to do a quick clean of the kitchen {empty/fill dishwasher, put away drying dishes on counter, wipe counters & sweep floors} each night before going to bed. Typically this is something I'd want to do right after dinner but with no hubby and two active kids that just doesn't work out. This week I've managed to complete that goal twice, so it's not picking up as quickly as I had hoped. But the mornings that it started out clean I liked it so I'm going to give it another go this week.

Things are looking more hopeful for my goals for the month. Now, I started a week late in January so I'm giving myself one week into February to complete this list.
  • Putting shelves in the pantry {every other cabinet has shelves, yet this one only has the holes for little brackets}
  • Put up valances {which also means deciding on some kind of color scheme}
  • Getting a rug or runner {again - color choices}
  • Purge and reorganize all cabinets & drawers.
  • Clear clutter off of counter tops.
Two of the more difficult tasks have been accomplished - my kitchen now has colors and my counters are clutter free. I used the apron my sister gave me for Christmas and my cute multi-colored espresso cups as inspiration and now am on the hunt for finding various items in color. I'll post more about the colors in a future post. My next goals to check off is organizing & purging all of the cabinets and drawers. The shelves will wait until the next pay day and my valances will wait until I find some in the right colors or I get really adventurous and borrow a sewing machine from a friend to make them myself.

Oh and I think I may be losing my mind, or at least a few marbles. I've been seriously contemplating painting the kitchen. We'll see if I find my way to any paint samples... By the way, I know how to measure for windows so if anyone would like to make the valances for me, I'd truly appreciate it. It's just two small{ish} windows. ;)

Starting From Scratch

The holidays are over, traveling is done and I'm starting to feel healthy again. In short - I've run out of excuses. It's time to get my booty in gear and get my house, habits and well everything back in order. I was overwhelmed at all there was to do when getting back home and ignored the suitcases and boxes for a few days. I finally got that all put away but it only made me realize how much there was to do and I can't blame it all on the holidays or vacation. So I've got a list of tasks for each room in the house - every room or at least some part of it will be purged and reorganized. On top of that I want to really do some decorating - area rugs, curtains or valances and wall decor. My goal is to create a welcoming home that is pleasing to the eye. I want it to be fun and functional for my family as well as relaxing and productive for myself. Relaxing & productive may sound like opposites but if I can be productive without constantly searching for things or stuffing drawers or seeing piles and clutter then I will be much more relaxed and more productive. Part of me wants to jump in head on and try to tackle it all at once, but that would be short lived. I get overwhelmed and tasks seem daunting so I end up doing very little or nothing at all. This week my goal will be to start back at the beginning - a clean kitchen. With little hungry kids first thing in the morning and needing my coffee fix the kitchen is the first place I'm in. Lately I've wanted to run back to bed because of the mess in there. Dishes left on the drying rack, dishes still in the sink and clutter EVERYWHERE. I have a good amount of counter space which is great for cooking and storing small appliances but it's also dangerous. It's like a magnet to clutter {much like every other flat surface in my home}. So this week each night I am going to have a dish free sink, clean counters and a swept floor. At the same time I will be decluttering and removing the catch all that has invaded my space. Throughout this month I would like to get the kitchen tasks completed and checked off of my list. This includes:
  • Putting shelves in the pantry {every other cabinet has shelves, yet this one only has the holes for little brackets}
  • Put up valances {which also means deciding on some kind of color scheme}
  • Getting a rug or runner {again - color choices}
  • Purge and reorganize all cabinets & drawers.
This time around some people are doing one habit a month vs. one a week so I'll see how this week goes. But this month I will be focusing on accomplishing my kitchen tasks. I don't enjoy cooking so maybe having a clean, functional and pretty kitchen will help me enjoy it more. Thanks for stopping by! To see more SMARTies or get SMART yourself click the button above.

SMARTy Pants

I almost forgot about SHS, in fact I almost forgot it was Saturday. I just can't keep my days straight lately. Last month went by so quickly and this past week was a blur of pumpkins, costumes & candy. I did get a few other things accomplished the last couple of days. Remember this goal? Well I was successful! I managed to enter all of the contests that really interested me. They were all fun giveaways but some things I really don't have need for like a nursing cover - weaning the baby! and I decided not to enter for any books, well except a couple for this cookbook because I have a bookshelf full of books that I have yet to read. That was SMART of me wasn't it? Not bringing in any more clutter or things I won't get to. I just found out this morning that I won a drawing for a year's subscription to the Family Fun magazine. My first step in that will be to figure out a way to keep my favorite articles without keeping stacks of magazines. I see binders, page protectors & color coded dividers in my future...how exiting!

So last week I decided to completely restart my SMARTness. It's going pretty well so far. I did a quick clean in the kitchen all but two nights, if I remember correctly, maybe three. But not a bad start. So I'll continue doing that this week. I also want to get back into organizing a space - whatever size - each day. I have stacks of scrappy magazines that I need to go through, a random box in the corner by the back door & I'm not sure what's in there along with a bedroom that is just a disaster. In fact it's so bad that there will be before & after pictures involved and it will be entered into a contest. Having an organized & clean room is a reward in itself but winning prizes are always fun too.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you are having a SMART week. Click on the button for more SMARTy pants.

Smart Habit Saturday - Starting Fresh

I have fallen off the wagon. I finally erased my Joe's Goals chart due to repeated flat lining. I wasn't keeping track like I used to and have struggled to find motivation to stay on top of my habits. I was considering stopping SHS posts all together because of it. But I have decided it would be better for me {and my household} to just start fresh. Between my husband being gone and moving I got overwhelmed & burnt out. Though I did a great job {if I do say so myself} at getting the house unpacked, purging & organizing my daily routine has flown right out the window. Things still get done but not as frequently as I'd like them to. So this week I'm going to take a look at my daily/weekly routine & rework it where needed. I'm starting back at the beginning for my first habit this week. I want to wake up to a clean kitchen each morning which means doing a quick clean up each night. This {for me} includes having an empty sink, floors swept, counter tops & stove wiped down. I'm hoping this will be a good start & will motivate me to pick up my other fallen habits quickly.

Smart Habit Saturday {week 1 October}

I am finally ready to jump back into SMARTness. I really need to get back into a more regular routine. I've gotten a lot accomplished at the new house and am excited about it but I really need to get back on track with the daily maintenance of things. I need to make adjustments to my schedule and plan would like to start planning out a week or two ahead of time. It's really easy for me to become a hermit, especially with hubby gone, so if I schedule things I'm more likely to get out of the house. This week I'm sticking to my same habits, not adding anything because it's been a while. The one habit I've done very well at (though Joe's Goals has flat lined) is organizing one space a day (or more!). I'd like to keep that one going as a regular thing, not just result of moving and unpacking. Click on the picture to visit the Lazy Organizer & other SMARTy pants out there.

On another topic, I'm so very excited about the fall season! We're finally out of the 80-90* temps and cooling down. I'm sure it will get colder here than what I'm used to in California, but that's fine by me. I love dressing in layers and wearing sweaters and scarves. And I eyed a cute pair of boots the other day so I think there's a little shopping trip in my future. Today we are going to a fall festival just off post, but it is a post sponsored event. There will be hay & pony rides, bouncers, souvenir photos and free pumpkins to decorate with the kids. We are meeting up with another friend and her daughter so having the company will be nice. I'm sure the kids will have a ball. I'll be going to another pumpkin patch & decorating party with my mommy group in a couple weeks and our community office is hosting a Halloween festival so that should be fun for the kids as well. I ♥ fall!

I want to say thanks to everyone who has left me such wonderful comments recently. I really do appreciate the encouragement & support. I'm going to try doing better at responding to comments in the comment section myself. I'm so glad that so many people were inspired by my de-junk drawer plan and wish I could invite each of you over for lunch or coffee & give you a tour of the new house. I am really excited about it, can you tell? :P

I hope you all have a great weekend, thanks for stopping by. Check back this week for a post about payback & boo!

Smart Habit Saturday {week 1 September}

Okay this is going to be short & sweet. We've got to figure out something to do today because the rain has foiled our plans of going to Riverfest. (A festival by the river in Clarksville). Besides walking around there were bounce house things that Michael could enjoy but not if they are all wet - I know some are enclosed but many of these were wide open. Overall I did okay this week, some days I checked my list off the next day or two days later and couldn't remember what I did or didn't do. For the detailed check list refer to my Joe's Goals. There are some things that I am still slacking on. The dinner one looks awful, we did eat I promise, I just didn't always cook or it was later than I'd have liked it to have been. And this week I got another book to add to my reading list. I really do want to read more often, I enjoy it once I get started but need to make myself sit still to read (and get off the computer). I hope you all have a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by & to see more SMARTies click on the button above.

My hubby has two weekends left so my posting may be a little sporadic. I wasn't planning on posting this morning but then he & Michael got busy playing with his train set and the baby is napping. So I took the opportunity!

Smart Habit Saturday {week 5 August}

This week was average, still doing well on most of the around the house habits and need more work on my personal habits. If you'd like to see more in detail check out my Joe's Goals. I still haven't done reading daily and only organized once this week. But I'm one closet closer to being done with the closets so it's still progress. The large box of baby clothes that I took out of Lydia's room is gone. Someone from a Fort Campbell Wives message board came by & picked them up. It's so good to be making progress in purging and organizing even if it's slow. I won't be picking up any new habits this week. We're down to 3 weeks left until my husband deploys so I don't want to put anything more on my plate so we can better enjoy our time together. Smart Habit Saturday {week 4 August}

It's that time of week again. Time to check out my Joe's Goals Chart and determine if this week was a success or failure - or change my definitions of either. Here's the breakdown:

Clearing Dishes at Night/Quick Pick Up/Quick Clean Kitchen/Call MK Hotlines: 7/7 or 6/6 (MK)
Enjoying Me Time: 6/7 - Don't remember what happened Tuesday
Brushing Teeth at Night/Washing Face/Follow Schedule/Dinner for Hubby - 5/7 or 3/5, much improvement and hubby was sweet to make me dinner twice this week!
Organize A Small Space: 1/7 but it was my daughter's closet and a big task of purging too small to wear clothes, organizing stuff she has to grow into and cleaning it all up afterward so I gave it two check marks
Reading 10 Minutes A Day: 0/7 {read: LAME} Surely with all the blogs I read and as much time I spend on e-mail and whatnot I can take 10 minutes to read a book. I can't use the, it's hard with my little ones thing because I obviously can make computer time.
Invite 5 People to MK Meeting: well I didn't invite 5 but I invited 2 and one wants to come so that's something!

So overall I'm pleased with my progress this week. My personal hygiene habits are improving as well as following my loose schedule {I think it needs some revision but that's part of the process} and I got a start on my messy closets. This week I'm not going to add any new habits. I really want to improve on some of these first. I hope you all had a great week, thanks for stopping by & to see other SMARTies out there or learn more about getting SMART yourself click on the banner above.

Smart Habit Saturday {week 3 August}

It's that time of week again. Time for me to tell you what a SMARTy or a slacker I've been. This week I had a few slacky days and some slacky habits. So here's the breakdown from my handy dandy Joe's Goals tracking sheet. Drinking water, quick pick up & calling Mary Kay hot lines I did each day, clearing the dishes & quick clean kitchen I did 5/7, brushing teeth & washing face 4/7, following schedule 3/7, organizing small space, dinner ready and reading only 2 days.

Some of you asked last week what I would be reading. At the time I wrote it I hadn't decided. I've got a lot of unread books on my shelf. The two days I did read I read Dare to Discipline by Dr. James Dobson. I enjoyed reading and as I predicted once I started I was reading for about 30 minutes rather than just 10. But then Monday came and I didn't pick up a book again all week. Another book I plan to read {again} is The Captain's Choice by {my friend} H.R. Peters. I have read this one but it was before it went to publishing so I want to read it again before the sequel comes out. It's really a great book & if you like the Little Women type stories/movies you'll LOVE this.

This week my new habit is another one that focuses on helping my Mary Kay business grow and achieve my goals. Have I told you that you can earn a free car or the cash equivalent to pay for your own car? That's what I'm going for. I'll keep my own car until I earn the pink Cadillac Escalade! So my new habit is to invite 5 people a week to be my guest at the weekly meetings. I'll track this each Sunday because the meetings are on Mondays. Mary Kay had the 3 foot rule and it's something like this: Everyone within three feet of you is a possible customer, recruit or friend that you just haven't met yet. I'm not going to build my business or develop friendships without talking to people - duh!

Smart Habit Saturday {week 2 August}

It's Saturday? Already? Where did the week go? Where did the summer go? I can't believe fall is just around the corner. I love the fall season; cool days, brisk breeze, leaves changing color & falling to the ground. I'm curious what fall out here is going to be like. I'm sure the leaves still change color and fall to the ground but I have heard mixed opinions about the weather.

I've been working on my habits and doing pretty well this week. I didn't stick exactly to my schedule but did refer to it a few times this week. I really want to get this in place before hubby deploys. I need to keep my routine going and have something that feels 'normal' while he's away. Though I realized I will need new motivation. Wanting him to come home to a clean home and dinner being prepared is a large motivator for me so for now checking off this list will have to substitute. If you want to see exactly what I did this week you can look at my Joe's Goals chart. Here's the breakdown: Dishes at night, Quick pick up & Quick clean kitchen was a 7/7 {habit!}, Enjoying me time 6/7 {habit!}, Brushing teeth at night 4/7 {improvement}, Create and follow schedule & Organizing a small space 3/7 {needs work}, Call Mary Kay hot lines 4/4 {habit!}, Washing face at night 1/7 {lame! - need my product}, Dinner ready for hubby 3/5 {not bad for first week}.

I'm still noticing that I do better at taking care of the house than myself. Isn't this a trap that a lot of moms fall into? Often without realizing it. We put everyone & everything before ourselves. Most of the time it's necessary and may not seem like a big deal, I mean - that's part of our job right? Except that if we don't take care of ourselves we get burnt out and we can't take care of our families & homes as well. So my habit this week is to read at least 10 minutes a day. I used to love to read and then sometime after high school didn't as much, then I read when I had to and not as often because I wanted to. I've got a bookshelf full of books, many that I haven't read. I'm sure once I start I'll exceed the 10 minutes but I want to keep it small so I don't feel so overwhelmed and intimidated by it.

I hope you have had a SMART week and if you aren't a SMARTy pants yet, what are you waiting for? Check out the Lazy Organizer by clicking the picture at the top of this post to see how she & others have been SMART and join in on the SMARTness!

Smart Habit Saturday {week 1 August}

We are enjoying another four day weekend with hubby so I almost forgot about posting SHS, yesterday felt like Saturday so I'm sure you can understand my confusion. So this week wasn't too bad. Some I did great, others terrible and others just need some work. I have learned some things about myself through this: a) it's confirmed I'm motivated by lists & checking things off that list. b) I need to see said list to be motivated by it. c) a schedule is a great idea but must be visible for me to pay attention. So I'm going to print out my schedule and put it on the fridge so I can see just what I'm supposed to be doing when and make necessary adjustments. I'm also going to try printing a blank Joe's Goals sheet so that I can check things off throughout the day or at the end without being on the computer, usually I don't check things until the next day when I see the red line and sometimes two days go by and then I forget what I've done. Lessons learned right? Right. Thanks. So a quick overview: clearing dishes, quick pick-up, quick clean kitchen & enjoy me time I did 6/7 - yay! Drinking water more often was 5/7, brushing my teeth 3/7 {ew! I know}, organizing a small space 2/7 & washing my face 1/7 {so bad!}, the whole schedule business - zilch! My newest habit I did 4/4 - w00t! So what's on the list for this week? Hmm....I should have thought of that before starting this post huh? {thinking} Okay, my new habit is to have dinner done or close to done when hubby gets home. Some days he gets off earlier than others so on those days I want to have it started or have a plan, depending on the time.

Were you SMART this week? Go check out The Lazy Organizer by clicking the picture above to link your post. And if you aren't part of the SMARTy pants club go check it out. Do you see all the habits you could be working on or have established by now? :P Have a great week!

Smart Habit Saturday {week 4 July}

Wow, so I think this is my fourth or more {?} SHS of being more of Slacker than a SMARTy Pants. I blame it on my hormones. My not so friendly visitor came this week, though I'm glad that she did since she was really late - like over 2 weeks late! - and I just don't want another baby right now. That would leave me preggy and soon have three kids under the age of three all while hubby is overseas - no thank you! If I were to get pregnant I of course would be happy & excited, after the initial shock and fear wore off, but since I'm not I can be glad for it. So this whole schedule thing is tough to iron out the wrinkles, I didn't look at it or try to follow it as much this week as I should have. But I did make my phone calls to the MK hot line so I'm doing something consistently. Oh and I took a little time this week to do some scrapping too! This entry will be short because I have a party at 2 and I need to get the house in order, myself ready and try to get some laundry done. w00t! I'm really getting excited about this and am hoping for more customers and parties. I hope you all had a better week than I and a good week to come. I likely won't be visiting everyone {I try to each week} until later today but I will see you.

Check out The Lazy Organizer to see more info about SMARTy Pants & join in on the fun or come back if it's been a while! Lara's computer has been down for a few days so no Mr. Linky to sign or post from her but you can look back on old SHS or browse her blog for great organizing tips!

I'll Take Care of It....tomorrow

Hello, my name is Rebecca & I'm a procrastinator. They say admitting your problem is the first step right? So what's the second step? Probably something to do with changing the problem. Though I procrastinate with just about everything so I'd need quite a few steps to change that. My grocery shopping gets done when I'm completely out of the basics, laundry often is washed when I run out of clean shirts, I clean the house last minute before hubby gets home, fill up the gas tank when the light comes on, etc.

And so here it is about 7:00am Tuesday morning I leave for the airport in 8 hours and not one bag is packed. 8 hours, that's plenty of time you say? And to that I say ha! Do you really think that the only thing I have left to do today is pack my bags? If so go reread the first paragraph. Finished? K. So like I said 8 hours. What's left to do you wonder? Well for one all three of us need to bathe & get dressed, diaper bag needs to be packed, purse needs to be packed, bags as mentioned need to be packed, I have to put our mail on hold at the Post Office, pick up Lydia's prescription {rash cream} & clean the house so hubby doesn't come home to a disaster area. All while changing diapers, nursing a baby, making food for the boy & trying to remember everything I need to bring. I can see myself on the plane halfway to California & realizing I forgot my bridesmaid dress or shoes or something important like that.

And now I must go. After reading that list of things my mind is racing so I need to start doing & not just listing. I'm a great lister, not always a great doer. I'll be back in two weeks with lots of photos & fun stories to share. Thanks for the visit & take care!

Update: It's now 2:00pm, errands were made, bags packed & put in the car and the house is clean enough for hubby {& myself when I get back}. That means I have almost 2 hours to not stress, that'll be new for the day. :P
