Slow and steady win the race they say. I'm hoping that applies to my house as well. I started out this morning with a list of tasks I wanted to accomplish. It started with laundry, being motivated by the new washer & dryer (which is awesome), but then I realized that once the laundry was clean I would have nowhere to put it since we're still dressing out of suitcases and boxes. So then I had high hopes of unpacking all of our clothes, clearing out a few more boxes, getting all of the laundry done (9 including the slipcovers) - like I said, high hopes. I did manage to get Lydia's clothing unpacked. This took a lot longer than I thought it would. The movers took the liberty of emptying my plastic tubs that had her clothing divided by size, ya know so it's easier for me to swap out when she grows out of clothing and needs new stuff. I was blessed by a ton of gently used baby girl clothing from friends and preorganized (not a word but I'm using it anyway) so it would be easier for me at times like these. But no, the movers put all of her clothing into boxes, mixing it all up. So I had to sort through what would fit now, what she's grown out of and what she still had to grow into. (Yes, I know I'm a little anal/OCD/organizational nutcase/whatever you want to call it and I'm okay with it). During this time Michael was being so kind and helping me. And by helping me of course I mean making more of a mess, rearranging my piles, throwing shoes everywhere - but he meant well. Lydia wasn't much of a help either, she was in her crib crying (tired) so I had to sing this whole time which surprisingly helped her fall asleep. I was going to put her in this little swing I have with fish and lights & music (thanks again Chriss!) but I was one C battery short of getting it to work. I thought she would try to sit & play with toys but I guess she thought that wouldn't be quite so much fun. By the time I was done with that it was lunch time. So I made Michael his lunch, fixed myself something and took a break. I should have known better, eat & work or at least eat while standing. I didn't want to do another thing. So I finished continued washing the slipcovers, replaced the one on the couch - no easy task - and sat with Michael to watch a movie, Robots. Then Lydia woke up, shortly after it was Michael's nap time. Today he didn't sleep much and she wasn't too happy unless she was held so that was that. Slipcovers & blankets have been washed & Lydia's clothing is in some kind of order, for the most part. Tomorrow I hope to finish more, at least get all of our clothing put away and put some kind of dent in that laundry. I'm sure that this computer will be the death of me, or at least the death of any house progress. I know I shouldn't even turn it on but I do. That was my day. I know there was some stuff the kids did that I thought of putting on here but have completely forgotten them as this is my second attempt to complete this post. So that is it for now, thanks for stopping by. Oh and photo above is a close up of a gerber daisy that I found on picaboo.com, one of their free backgrounds. It is a neat thing to do, fun way to share photos.

Goodluck with your to-do lists. I can so easily relate and I haven't just moved! God bless you in this season.
You'll get there. Just remember that character is grown with patience--not only for you but for the house! Spend time with your house--love your house. Caress it and talk sweetly to it. Eventually everything will be put away and organize just right, and the world will be aligned again. ;)
just keep checking stuff off girlie. eventually you will look at those lists and nothing will be left. THEN you get to make a new one :)
